Every year when Winter rolls around, you’ve probably noticed the glut of commercials for cold and flu medicines that promise to put an end to the coughing, sneezing, headaches, stuffiness and more that comes with being sick.
Most of us just chalk it up to being “that” time of year.
I found this article very interesting. A mother has been arrested for child neglect for allowing her 14 year old son to become obese at 555 lbs.
There are other issues also that led to her arrest. Her son has a cancer that is very treatable, but has not allowed the doctors to treat him.
Although I find it sad that a mother would allow her child to become severly obese, I do not agree with the medical community or the government making the decision for the parents when it comes to medical treatments. Read this article from the Washington Post and give me your opinion below.
Every summer my girls participate in our library’s summer reading program. They earn weekly prizes and a chance to attend a big performance at the end.
We will definitely participate again next month, but I also just found out about this new reading program through The Old Schoolhouse. There will be some great prizes and there is a coloring contest right now to jump start your summer fun. Submissions must be in before June 15th.
You can check it out here.
Fun summer reading!
