Michael Phelps and Kelloggs Controversy

Olympian Michael Phelps to Be Featured on Packages of Kellogg’s Frosted Flakes(R) and Kellogg’s Corn Flakes(R) Cereal

I have a pretty good idea that this will have a huge impact on Kellogg’s revenues as kids clamor to purchase these boxes of cereal with their hero on them.  I think having heroes is awesome as long as they represent the values that we want to see emulated in our children.

I do have a problem with Kelloggs though.  The boxes of cereal Phelps will be featured on are all sugary, high fructose laiden junk food.

As an advocate of health and fitness, Phelps should’ve insisted on being placed on boxes of healthier cereals to encourage children to make better choices.  I’m rather disappointed in him.

“As an Official Sponsor of the 2008 U.S. Olympic Team and a proud sponsor of Phelps, it is only fitting that Kellogg Company feature this world-class athlete on its iconic boxes of Kellogg’s Corn Flakes and Kellogg’s Frosted Flakes cereals,” said Marta Cyhan, Vice President, Global Promotions, Kellogg Company. “Michael embodies the values behind our Frosted Flakes Earn Your Stripes(TM) program. He knows that winning is not just about the glory that comes with gold medals, but about good sportsmanship, working hard and being your best.”

We know very well that olympians do not make Frosted Flakes and Corn Flakes a regular part of their diet and I find it rather disgusting that Kellogg’s would stoop so low to increase their sales than by using our innocent children.  Childhood obesity is a major problem in our company and its the sleezy marketing of these big companies that are to blame.

Never Gonna Steal My Joy

September 30, 2008 by Administrator · Leave a Comment

This past weekend was a whirlwind of events for me.  I was coming off of a majorly awesome week of events and felt amazing.  On Saturday afternoon my band, Spoken For, played for the Special Olympics at our towns Covered Bridge Festival.  It was a lot of fun.  On Sunday morning, we played worship music for the New Life Lutheran church.  It is so worthwhile to use the talents God has given me for His purpose.  It makes this temporary world so much more fulfilling to live in.

One of the songs that I sing is entitled, “Never Gonna Steal My Joy” and it discusses how circumstances and events in this life will happen, but we have the real love of Jesus Christ and therefore, nothing in this world is going to steal our joy.

When we step away from ourselves and look at the bigger picture, the troubles and tribulations of this life seem miniscule and unworthy of our worry.

I am thankful for each new day and what discoveries await me.

the answer is yes…as scary as that may seem.
Click here to discuss not only how it’s
possible…but how to prevent it.

My Success Coaches
My Success Coaches

I have to admit that this past weekend was one of the most exciting and exhausting experiences of my life.  I participated this year in a coaching program that completely revamped things in my business but also gave me even more confidence than I thought I could ever possess.

It was awesome to actually meet my coaches in person.  They are great guys and very successful in the fitness business.

It really got me thinking about how important it is to have coaches or mentors in your life.  You should really surround yourself with people who are living and breathing the lifestyle you wish to have.  I have mentors in my Christian walk, in motherhood and in business.

Look for those that not only talk the talk but walk the walk.

If you are looking for a mentor in fitness, look no further.  My online coaching program is your ticket to finally getting in shape and making a difference in the health of your family.  I am living the fitness lifestyle everyday and know the struggles that moms face.  I homeschool four children while running my fitness business and it is definitely a challenge.

Join me and the other women in our online coaching program featured in PFP Magazine and make permanent changes today.

When Exercise Doesn’t Work

September 23, 2008 by Administrator · 5 Comments

Recent research has shown that exercise – alone -
doesn’t have much of an impact on body composition.
Even if you’re doing up to 5 hours a week.  However,
that doesn’t mean all hope is lost.  When you
combine exercise and the right nutritional
intervention, the body fat seems to fly off.  To

A Weekend of Motivation

September 22, 2008 by Administrator · Leave a Comment

I had the most incredible experience this weekend.  I met some of
my mentors and coaches, as well as, some of the biggest names in the
fitness business while attending a conference in Stamford, CT.

Being around such positive, energetic people is contagious.  I
highly recommend surrounding yourself with positive people in your
life.  If you are trying to change your lifestyle, you will need a
postive support group.

Although it is tempting when you start out to employ the help of
your family and friends, it can sometimes backfire on you.  I
remember in the past when I would get started on a new diet and
exercise program, I would ask my girlfriend to do it with me.  She
somewhat reluctantly agreed.

As soon as I was having a really stressful day, I would call her
and whine and suggest we go out for a burger and milkshake.  She
would never try to talk me out of it. It was usually a great big,
“Whew!  Let’s go!”  Off the diet plan we would go.

When I made my permanent transformation, I hooked up with some
great ladies online and it made all the difference.  They held me
accountable to my decision to change.  Through their support and
learning about correct nutrition (not dieting!) and strength
training I was able to transform my body for good.

That is why I created my online coaching club.  Women who are all
on the same journey rally together to support each other as they
make permanent changes to their health, bodies and families.

Inspiration Fitness Club was featured in PFP Magazine this month.
It was an honor to be recognized by my colleagues.

Why don’t you make that decision to join us today.
