Choosing a Workout Partner
December 8, 2008 by Administrator
We had quite a busy weekend. The girls were in our church Christmas musical and performed three times. We watched two of the three and enjoyed them immensely. It was really nice to sit back and watch this year rather than perform. Performing arts seems to run in the family. We’re all just a bunch of hams I guess.
Although we have had company, my husband and I have been very consistent with our kettlebell workouts each day. It’s fun having him home. He’s my best friend. He’s also the best workout partner ever! He was the one who got me up at 5:30 am every morning when I began my transformation and never let me talk myself out of it. Some mornings he literally pulled me by the legs to get me up. I was always thankful AFTER the workout.
That leads me to todays topic – how to choose a workout partner. You really do need to be picky when you choose one or your partner could be the reason you fail to accomplish your New Year’s resolution this coming year.
Do choose a partner with a track record of accomplishing goals regardless of obstacles in their paths and whose goals are very similar to yours.
Make sure they will hold you accountable to weekly goals.
Decide if you want someone more experienced than you to lead you, less experienced to lead, or at the same fitness level to advance together.
A partner can help bring variety to your workouts, offer feedback on technique and spot you if you like to lift heavy (which you should ladies).
It can become frustrating when you choose a partner that lacks punctuality, stick-to-it-iveness, or focus. Even more so when they see your time together as social hour.
That is why many have found my online membership site to be beneficial. It offers you the accountability you need to stay on track, there is someone to lead you and, as you progress you become a leader. Your workouts always change and challenge you. You learn proper exercise technique through videos and feedback.
This year we will begin 2009 with a 12 week transformation challenge. There will be prizes at the end of the challenge for the biggest transformation. Inspiration Fitness Club
Along with the transformation challenge there will be a complete nutrition course for those interested.
Online coaching is limited to a select few so be sure and grab your spot soon.
Make 2009 your best year yet.

This is an excellent article. It’s a great thing when you can feed off each other. I also think it is great what you are doing for homeschool mothers. My mother was one and she is going to do a stair race this year.

Thanks Dallas. Your mom is amazing. Those stair races are crazy. Tell her I said good luck!
